iPad Air 2 Review

By now many people either own a tablet or know someone who owns one. If you are looking to buy the iPad Air 2 this review will serve to be useful.

But , before reviewing the major points of the iPad Air 2 lets briefly touch on the history of the iPad.. The first iPad was introduced by Steve Jobs in 2010 and while it wasn’t the first tablet on the market it was and still is considered to be the most “innovative” tablet among its predecessors.

The iPad runs on iOS, a mobile operating system created and developed by Apple Inc. exclusively for its hardware. It is the operating system that presently powers many of the company’s mobile devices, including the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

Furthermore, The iPad was and still is known to have outstanding  battery life. Even the first generation of iPads managed to get about 10 hours of battery life, which surprisingly is the same amount that the iPad Air 2 gets. So over the years, the battery life has stayed at up to 10 hours for every single iPad.

But enough talk about the “iPad” lets take a closer look at the iPad Air 2.

Why Buying The iPad Air 2 Makes Sense!

If you are on this review chances are you are interested in the iPad Air 2, the second generation iPad air. So lets look at the iPad Air 2 and see what new features it comes with and how it stands out from the competition. There are four major changes that come with the iPad Air 2 and those changes are in terms of its display, design, performance, and camera.

Starting off with Design, for the iPad Air 2

  • iPad The iPad Air 2 has become even thinner and lighter than the iPad Air. At 6.1mm thin and 0.96 pounds the iPad air 2 is extremely light.
  • iPad Air 2 introduces new color “gold” to complement the already existing silver, and space gray colors.
  • Compared to previous models , the iPad Air 2 no longer has mute or rotation lock switch on the side.. this is now done entirely through the operating system.
  • The speakers for the iPad Air 2 have been redesigned, and improved making it significantly louder.
  • The iPad Air 2 Home button comes with a Touch ID sensor. You can now unlock your iPad by simply using your fingerprint, furthermore you can also use the Touch ID sensor to pay for apps, use within apps, and pay for goods with Apple Pay.

The second big change for the iPad Air 2; display

The iPad Air 2 now comes with a Fully laminated display, but this is one of those things you have to see for yourself in person. The iPad Air 2 display is beautiful, packing a 2048-by-1536-pixel resolution at 264 ppi, not to mention it’s an incredible low-reflectance tablet.

iPad Air 2 features a custom-designed antireflective coating that reduces glare by 56 percent, making it one of the least reflective tablets in the world. In virtually any kind of environment — offices, classrooms, outdoors — everything is clearer and more readable.

The third major change for the iPad Air 2; Performance

Amongst these feats, the iPad Air 2 is the first iOS device from Apple that comes with 2GB of ram. ( Now you can keep more apps open in the background). So because, your iPad lets you work with two apps at once (better known as multi-tasking) and it has 2GB of ram.. you now have the ability to take full advantage of that extra gig of memory. In addition, the iPad Air 2 has more than double the graphics performance, is power efficient, and comes with a 10-hour battery life that lets you work, play, surf, and shop all day long.

  • The front-facing FaceTime HD camera has a larger ƒ/2.2 aperture that lets in 81 percent more light.

Thanks to its FaceTime HD camera and brilliant Retina display, video calls on iPad Air 2 are clearer than they’ve ever been. With an improved sensor, advanced optics, and a more powerful image signal processor, the iSight camera in iPad Air 2 captures incredibly detailed photos and practically cinematic 1080p HD videos. Just to make it easy for you in short terms, photos look amazing!

The iPad Air 2 is a great tablet, and is one of the best tablets to be used outdoors. For a reasonable price you can own a tablet that is lightweight, has great battery life, and excellent performance. If you know anyone that would like a tablet then don’t hesitate to share this page. 1. Very nice review. I did not realize that my 9.7″ iPad Pro was the same size as iPad Air 2. With its beautiful Rose Gold finish, it looks just like your featured model.

I took it out on a video shoot recently for a project in my master’s program. Some of the shoot was from the dashboard of an auto moving at 45 mph. It looked great (very smooth) and I got a top score on the project with the comment: “very professional”.

    • Thank you for your feedback! While I don’t think It’s worth it to pay the extra money for the 9.7 ipad Pro, I will say that the ipad Pro is useful, practical and lightweight compared to a laptop/computer. I made this comparison because It seems that Apple went in the direction of replacing the need of the traditional laptop/computer with the ipad Pro, especially with the addition of the apple pencil to expand on the versatility of Multi-Touch.

Despite the ipad Pro 9.7 feats though I would still go with the iPad Air 2 just because you’re getting a very similar experience for a much better price.
